All in Ballygiblin were saddened to hear of the sad passing of John O Connor.  He was a founding member of the club in 1955 and was full forward on the 1963 team that won our first ever North Cork title. After retiring he started coaching the team, he was the coach of the 1979 team who won our 2nd North Cork title.
He was a lifelong support of the Ballygiblin teams and could be seen at all the games.  He was also a very generous sponsor of the club for many years with his huge annual contributions.  In 2003 he put up a perpetual cup for the U10s, this is played annually against various teams from Cork, Waterford
Tipp and his beloved Limerick.   He was thrilled and overjoyed to see the huge success of the present team in winning the all-Ireland, he was delighted when the players visited him with the 3 cups.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and Ballygiblin have lost another great clubman.
Our sincere sympathies to all the O’Connor, O’Gorman and O’Farrell families and friends at this sad time.  May his gentle soul rest in peace.  Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.
